Activities:
Whether you stay a day or a week, you won't regret visiting the natural beauty of Winding Hills Park, located off Old Route 17K just two miles west of the Village of Montgomery.
Bring the entire family out for a day in the park to commune with nature, have a picnic in the grove, fish by the lake or walk the nature trails which loop through the various terrain in the park. You can also stay for the night or weekend at one of the 51 camp site destinations.
Camping: A 51-site facility for trailers or tents in a heavily wooded area. Each site contains a picnic table and fire ring. The two large, centrally located comfort stations contain electricity and shower facilities. Advanced holiday weekend reservations may be made by calling (845) 457-4918. Reservations will be taken only for Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day weekends. Consult brochure for further information. Season: Weather permitting, from the first Friday in May to the fourth Sunday in October.
NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED IN THE CAMPGROUND.
All non-profit organization camping groups (Scouts, AHRC, etc.) using the Winding Hills Park camping facilities will be required to leave a $50.00 deposit. The deposit will be returned if the area is properly cleaned and there are no damages to the facilities. The park ranger may approve the deposit refund by signing the returning permit copies to the camping group and administrative office. The site will be thoroughly inspected prior to approving all deposit refunds.

Boating: A 40-acre lake is open for boating from M ay through October during designated times. Boating is available on weekends while school is in session and Tuesday through Sunday during the summer months (see hours). All boaters must wear a life jacket. The public may launch their own boats with the approval of the ranger. Posted rules must be observed.

Fishing: A 40-acre lake and four-acre pond are ava ilable for everyone's fishing enjoyment at no charge. Fishing may be done on the shoreline on both bodies of water or in a boat on the lake. Only electric powered boats may be permitted. All boaters must wear life jackets. Equipment and bait are not provided. Fishing licenses are required in accordance with State Law. Ice fishing is permitted only when conditions are safe. See posted rules at the Boathouse.
Picnicking: A 20-acre picnic area overlooking a four-acre pond is available at no charge. The 40 individual picnic sites each contain a table and charcoal grill with a comfort station in the immediate area. Shelter use is on a first come, first serve basis weekdays for children's and senior citizen groups if it is not reserved. All other usage requires a permit and payment of scheduled fees. Catered and bulk food rules apply. Shelter occupancy is limited to 96. Electricity is available at this location and floor is paved.

Winter Sports: Ice fishing is permitted during the daylight hours as long as there is sufficient safe ice. Snowmobiling is permitted during daylight hours when there is sufficient snow cover. Participants must first register at the Ranger office. All snowmobiles must be insured and registered. Trails are also open for snowshoeing and cross country skiing.
