Information: In 1971 the County purchased an additional 70 acresP1011062 at Cronomer Hill and began planning the development of sports complex, as a result of acquiring a matching grant from the Land & Water Conservation Fund. In 1980, the County dedicated the Cronomer Hill Park complex. With six tennis courts and three multi-purpose fields for soccer, baseball, football and softball, Cronomer Hill became the county's most popular hub of sports activities. Several other projects took place over the years to further enhance the operations of the park; some of these projects included the development of a passive recreation area with a 30’ Observation Tower, plus collaborating with the Town of Newburgh to light the ball fields.
